Horseback Riding Program
Tallchief's Dreamcatcher Arena

Requirements for scheduling your troop or group for a horseback ride:

  • Cost is $20 per rider and must be paid in full when the Form #585F is submitted.
  • Form #585F will not be accepted less than four weeks before the activity or without the activity fees included.  NO EXCEPTIONS! You must pay for as many riders as the number of reservations you have made, so please be careful in your planning.  There will be no refund for “no-shows,” for an individual or for a troop.
  • There is a limit of 8 riders per session.
  • Session times are: Saturday and Sunday, 9:00am, 10:30am, 1:00pm, 2:30pm.
  • Each rider must be at least 9 years old, wear long pants, and have shoes that enclose the entire foot.
  • Riders do not have to have boots.
  • We will provide riding helmets.
  • If you have a large troop, the number of riders will be split into two different consecutive sessions as the schedule allows.  Partial groups in a session may be placed with riders from another troop.
  • Troop leaders do not have to ride with the troop.
  • A troop First Aider is required.
  • In the event of inclement weather that would prevent you from riding, you may reschedule or receive a refund.
  • Plan ahead!  Reservations get booked quickly.  Considering the fact that your paperwork has to be received 4 weeks before the activity, start your planning early.
  • Troops attending a Service Unit campout at Camp Tallchief are responsible for making their own riding reservations.
  • The horseback riding program is available from mid-March to the end of May and August 1 through mid-November.

Please call the Camp Registrar at 745-5225 or email Camp Registrar for more information.
