PR Stars

Being a PR Star is an exclusive opportunity for Girl Scouts who have made the “500 Club” (have sold 500+ boxes of Girl Scout cookies). Not many girls get to do what you do ... sell hundreds of cookies, get invited to be a PR Star, and have opportunities to shine!  Do you like to write? Be in photos or videos? Have a reporter interview you for the paper? Be on TV? Shine on, PR Star!  Sign up by clicking here.

I'm a PR Star ... but what's PR?

PR = Public Relations.  It's what you do when you represent Girl Scouting in your community.  Since you have sold at least 500 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies, we know you've been out there doing a lot of PR already.  You're a star!  There are a lot of ways to do PR, and with the fun sessions we have, you learn how to be in the spotlight like a pro:

  • Photo Shoots
  • Special Appearances
  • Television
  • Radio
  • Newspapers
  • Web and Print Features

I'm a PR Star Parent ... tell me the nitty gritty!

Invitations to PR Stars are extended once a year after the Cookie Sale.  Girls who choose to be part of PR Stars have the opportunity to participate for one year - through the next Cookie Sale.  This group will have 3-4 sessions per year that involve media training, photo shoots (you may want to bring a camera for your own photos!), and opportunities to share their voice with the world.

During her first year, a new PR Star will receive a PR Stars patch (like the logo above). At each session attended, a small star will be given to every girl and her constellation can begin to grow. Girls may participate as much or as little as they desire.

This fast paced group will have additional opportunities throughout the year that are not formal sessions. Notices will come via email, and most communication will be done via email.  Because of the nature of these opportunities, we will not be able to give much advance notice!
