Here are just a few of the many Girl Scout volunteer possibilities. Whether it’s once a week, once a month, or once a year, your commitment makes a difference in the lives of girls. More good news: The Council offers training for most positions for free or a minimal cost.
- Troop Leader/Assistant Leader - The troop leader helps make and carry out plans with the troop, which will enable girls to experience a well-rounded program of fun and personal growth based on the Girl Scout Promise and Law. The Assistant Leader assists the leader with these duties.
- Trainer of Volunteers - Trainers help develop and deliver training to adult volunteers in order to acquaint them with Girl Scout programs and resources, which are then passed on to our girls.
- Special Programs - Volunteers are needed to help girls earn badges or to share knowledge or skills such as dance, sports, arts, career exploration, or other hobbies.
- Outdoor Activities - Volunteers are needed to help at camping events, challenge course activities, grounds upkeep and maintenance.
- Troop Sponsor - Troop sponsors are always needed to help troops in need of financial assistance with dues, uniforms, handbooks, and other programs.
- Girl Scout Office Clerical Help - Various help is needed on a regular basis at the Girl Scout Office such as filing, bulk mailings, and data entry. Help is also needed during the busy times of fall product and cookie sales.
