An important ingredient to help volunteers perform at their best is ongoing support. Council staff and experienced volunteers are ready to help and eager to share their knowledge. Printed materials such as Volunteer Essentials, Badge books, Leader Guides, Special Activity Publications and Patch Programs give ideas and resources to make volunteering seem effortless. Troop leader meetings are held monthly in each area. These invaluable meetings provide networking and learning opportunities with other leaders in the area.
Training Opportunities The many training opportunities provide the volunteer with knowledge and skills needed to perform successfully in the position. This Web site and the National Web site, www.girlscouts.org, provide the latest information about activities, events, and programs. Helpful tools and forms are available both in print and online. Adults who participate, encourage and support the Girl Scout movement are the very foundation of the organization. Through Adult Recognitions, appreciation and encouragement are expressed in ways that recognize dedication and contributions to the beliefs and principles of Girl Scouting.
