Without adults playing many pivotal roles, Girl Scouting couldn’t happen. Whether you’re a leader/advisor, parent or guardian, volunteer, or mentor, you awaken in girls their promise to develop their full potential. Research shows that the influence one caring adult has on a child will last a lifetime.
Helping girls grow strong is a fulfilling and inspiring challenge and being involved means something different to everyone. You can tailor your participation so that it fits right into your life. What do adults in Girl Scouts do?
-
Expand horizons
-
Build values
-
Create a better future
-
Make a difference
Whatever they bring to the organization, our volunteers have one thing in common – a commitment to helping girls grow strong. More than 2,400 volunteers throughout 30 Oklahoma counties volunteer with us – why not you? Opportunities are as varied as the girls we serve. For girls to benefit from Girl Scouting, they need the guidance of concerned, caring adults – adults like you!
For some volunteers, that means working directly with girls throughout the year. For others, it may be lending expertise for a specific short-term project or event.
How do I become a volunteer?
Bet you thought you couldn’t be a Girl Scout if you’ve never been one. It’s not too late. Girl Scouts come in all age groups and we want you to have the opportunity to become an adult member by volunteering. Not much time to donate? No problem. We’ll match your needs with the needs of girls. Participate once a month, on weekends, evenings, during a particular time of year – it’s your call. Make it happen for you and for today’s girls.
